The "free" command will show you how much is in use. Expanded memory is only used by Linux/390 if you use the xpram device driver to emulate a paging volume. That's a good use for it, certainly, which is why it was written. But that's _all_ it's going to be used for. Essentially avoiding doing real I/O for paging.
