Yes, much better than VM, or, I presume, z/OS. V2, V3, V4, V3-over-TCP, whatever. You can also do Netware, CIFS, AppleTalk-over-IP, AFS, Coda, or pretty much any other network filesystem you want. *Also*, you can now do Fibre Channel SCSI, and Linux has device drivers for most common filesystems, so you can get to pretty much anything on your SAN. And, if you want, reexport it via whatever network protocol you like. Adam
