You're confusing SLES7 with the original release (called, confusingly
enough SuSE 7.0). The downloadable SuSE 7.0 was the 2.2-based original
release. There was never a downloadable version of SLES 7.

SuSE 7.0 (IMHO) is probably not supportable today. If you want a low
cost or free distribution, get Debian. It's modern, tracks all the
patches, and works everywhere that SuSE 7.0 would have worked with a
lot less hassle.
