The standard Linux tools are no help, because they assume that the
amount of capacity in the machine is fixed.  Since the machine has,
really, a variable (and fractional) number of CPUs available to it at
any instant, top and friends will just be confused.

If you're using Performance Toolkit, you also want to get the RMFPMS
collector and run that on your Linux guests to feed statistics back to
VM.  It's free and downloadable from IBM.

OTOH, if you don't mind spending more money--I don't know how much
more--Velocity Software makes what is, by all accounts, an excellent
performance monitoring suite.
