Phil: what Henry said.

Henry: I thin what Phil means
is that to even give the slightest hint of "derived",
even when that is clearly not what was stated. [sigh; legalities]

all: Eric Raymond has a good clarification of
three meanings for Unix, one of which clearly applies to Linux.

        http://www.opensource.org/sco-vs-ibm.html

See the section entitled "The meaning of `Unix'".
He defines

        Unix-family (including Linux)
        genetic Unix, and
        trademark Unix

Very nice.
