The "cultural norm" for this mailing list has been that one-time unsolicited "ads" have been reasonably well tolerated, usually in the form of an announcement of availability. Responses to inquiries are always appropriate, but most people have taken the "contact me offline for more information" approach.
I just don't want this list to turn into a continuous commercial, since there are a lot of people here (myself included) that have something to sell.
