SPECIAL NOTICE
Please bring a name badge from any past conference (SHARE, WAVV, CMG). The
older
or more obscure the better. This will save time and effort of creating one
before
the meeting and should be a good conversation starter.

ABSTRACTS
Virtual Networking with z/VM Guest LANs and the z/VM Virtual Switch

Did you know that you could create virtual LAN segments that connect your
z/VM
guests together without the need for all those messy point-to-point
connections?
And did you know you could do that without creating new subnets? Come to
this
session to hear the latest on how, and when, to use z/VM Guest LANs and the
z/VM
Virtual Switch. We'll also talk about z/VM's support for IEEE Virtual LANs
(VLANs).

How to print using CUPS

The speaker will discuss how to set up print servers with CUPS; queue
management,
form definitions, printer descriptions, and more.

A Sneak Peak at Linux 2.6

The past few months have seen a flurry of activity as 2.6 was readied for
general
availability. Well GA has arrived. For those of us who like to live on the
bleeding
edge, the code is available to download, build and use. I've been examining
the
status of the kernel and, in particular, the S/390 implementation since the
-test3
release. In this presentation I'll present some of my findings and explain
what
differences you will encounter when moving from the 2.4 kernel.

User Stories from the Floor

We'll take some time towards the end of the meeting to find out what people
are doing
with their z/VM and Linux systems. We'll also open the floor to questions
and discussion
on any relevant topic.

PARKING
Parking is available in CA parking lot. Please go to the main entrance of
the building
and register at the front desk.
