I am running SuSE Linux SLES8 SP03 in native LPAR mode. I have a VIPA defined to dummy0 and two OSA/e interfaces defined to eth0 and eth1. I am running Zebra and OSPFD. The VIPA seems to be running fine. I use "ifconfig eth1 down" to shutdown one of the interfaces. OSPFD detects the downed interface and routes the traffic through eth0. However when I use "ifconfig eth1 up", the eth1 interface comes up but OSPFD never detects that it is available. Eth1 routes are never injected back into the routing table. When eth0 goes down, everyone drops even though eth1 is up and fully functional. The only method to get OSPFD to recognized an interface once it has gone down is to restart OSPFD which obviously is disruptive. Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas? Thanks.
