There are people running Linux/390 in LPARs on z800 boxes. There are people
using Linux/390 and SANs (although the SCSI over FCP support is relatively
new). There are people running Linux/390 and Oracle. I don't know that it
means anything because no one has responded that they use all three in
combination. I don't see anything that would prevent it all from working.
The same would hold true in a VM environment. It should all work fine,
given the appropriate tuning.

Hi Chris,

That will most likely be our final configuration also (vm/linux/oracle). I'd
appreciate any info you could pass me with that configuration. Whether you
send it to the LIST or my personal email is your choice.

Hopefully, someone out there is either running or has run in the environment
mentioned in the suject line also. But if I get NO replies I guess that
something also.

Mainframe - An obsolete device still used by thousands of obsolete
companies, serving billions of obsolete customers,
and making huge obsolete profits, for their obsolete
shareholders. And this year's run twice as fast as
            last year's.
