In the last couple of days, Rob van der Heij posted about a command that needs to be run (or sometimes does not run automatically) at the end of a SLES setup -- perhaps this needs to be run to correctly finish the system setup and give you access to YaST. BTW, "yast" on the command line rather than "Yast", "YaST", "YAST" or other combinations will work fine.
