DIRMAINT can import the flat USER DIRECT that you have modified and break it into cluster files. If you make a USER BACKUP with DIRMAINT you can change the volser in that one and have DIRMAINT on the new system pick it up. I trust you also will change the references in your system configuration file. PS The VMESA-L may be an even better place to review your options.
