The parmline in your zipl.conf may care--if it says "root=0x2300" and your disk is at 230A, it's a problem. Having /boot as a separate volume fixes this, of course. This is another thing that VM makes much easier, since you can just attach 230A as 2300. > BTW I have started courting Amanda. Yay!
