You haven't enabled xdmcp in any form on the Tao box, so there is no X-windows Logon Manager facing the outside world.
You should, however, be able to putty into the Tao Linux box, set DISPLAY= to your local PC running the Cygwin X-server, and start an X-type program. xterm or xeyes will work as examples. Tao should start the X session on your local PC, if everything is set up correctly. You might have to do an xhost command on the Cygwin box to allow the Tao box to access the X-server. ---- Robert P.
