Hi Ralph, Then you REALLY should do this under VM, so much easier.
"Shake out" = "get it working" as in "shake out any problems" I wouldn't be too worried about getting network connectivity to a system that doesn't exist yet, I'd focus on getting the system in a bootable state first.........
