Thanks! >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 08/14/04 09:13PM >>> Unfortunately, the /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 script (and rc.inet1.conf file) expect that all network interfaces are ethx names. I talked to Patrick Volkerding about it, and he said he'd been down that road before with IBM and trx devices, but would be willing to listen to any constructive suggestions I might have. I'm out of town until next week (at SHARE), so I won't have time in the meantime to look at it.
What you can do until I get a permanent fix is to add alias ctc0 ctc to /etc/modules.conf, and (after backing it up), modify /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 to do an ifconfig and route add for the CTC device. Once I get either a mainframe-specific script in place, or a more generalized version, I'll let you know. I running under Hercules. I ran into the same situation as Tobias with the zipl stuff. I copied zipl and zipl.conf from my Tao/390 system and ran it and Slack/390 IPL'ed fine. My ctc0 isn't initializing automatically. I suspect I need to do some updating in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1. I am able to run ifconfig and route to get the ctc going. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
