You configuration looks :  world - qdio osa card - vm/TCPIP - hypersocket
- LINUX.

Mark , Pieter and Alan already outlined that hipersocket is not a p2p (but
this is probably not the problem in this case) and pointed to verify
routing problem both from linux to the world and viceversa.

I only suggest to verify the routing into the osa card. OSA cards route
only registered addresses to their unit addresses, and unregistered
addresses to PRIMARY ROUTER (if defined)  .
So :
 - define [EMAIL PROTECTED]  as PRIROUTER (if none is already defined)
- OR try to use vmTCPIP as a PROXYARP  (not sure you will be able, vmTCPIP
ifconfig sees the link as a point2point , but the profile definition is not
for a p2p, it is for an hypersocket !).
