thanks pieter, i will be looking into this today. i remember our 3745 had
this same setting. it worked well when the system was loaded, but on
weekends it would cause sluggish response. personnaly, i think it would be
an adaptive setting based on the load, but that's just me. :-)

That delay is probably config'ed in there. I don't remember where it
was, but I recall the d/t2216 has a setting to delay packets in the hope
of batching them together on the Escon interface. Better have a look and
maybe play with.
