Yes, it is. Just use fdasd.
There is a menu entry "v change volume serial", which does the job.
Sure, fdasd will complain that your disk is in use and you could
heavily damage your system, in case you do not know, what you are
doing.
If you write your changes to the DASD, fdasd will fall into an
error, in case you are doing this with a mounted disk.
That's okay, fdasd is just not able to re-read the partition table,
but this is not necessary if you have only changed the volser. If
you check with dasdview afterwards, you'll see the changed volser.
