While IPL'ed from an install tape, I've run through the install of the
required applications from the 'A' series of SLACK390, and completed the
setup and configuration script. When I halt my system and attempt to
IPL/boot from the volume that has the /boot directory on it, my Linux
partition goes into a disabled wait state. I think that the problem is
that my volume is not a valid IPL device. I've read the IBM Redbook
Linux for S/390 (SG24-4987), which has you use the SILO command to write
the IPL record onto the volume. I can't find anything similar to this
in the Slack390 product. Has anyone seen this or know a way around
this?

Thanks,
Richard
