Martha,

My VM guys set up a VSWITCH for me last year. We had 7 or so SLES8 (with
_no_ maintenance on) guests attached to it. We were even using IEEE VLANs
to separate traffic for a proof of concept. I was trying to get approval
for the guy that did it to go to SHARE so he could give a talk on what he
did to set it up, but that hasn't happened yet. If you'd like, I can ask
him to get in contact with you so you can share information.

I misspoke in my first note. I do have all the latest patches on SLES 8.
I meant that I haven't done any customization of the system that might have
changed the way Yast works.

We found part of the problem. It looks like autodetect is turned off on
SLES 8. That is why it was not picking up the new NIC, from what my Linux
person and I can tell. He has managed to get it into chandev now, so that
is
a step forward. However, something still isn't right. I'll keep plugging
away at it.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, how many people there have used Vswitch for
one or more Linux systems at this point? What "flavor" of Linux are you
using?

Martha
