It would give us the opportunity to follow up with the author on related issues that wouldn't be appropriate for an RCF. It would give us a clue as to the author's specialty or core competence. It would give the author some bragging rights in our little meritocracy. It might tell me whether the book is worth picking up or not. Once upon a time when I was doing such stuff, I *always* read WSC JES2 materials written by Hutchinson or Anania, regardless of the topic. Always good stuff, always the straight scoop. Don't underestimate the importance of an author's reputation. Let me ask you instead: Why should the author's identity be a state secret? -- David Andrews A. Duda and Sons, Inc.
