I think you have to go read in the psdb.  I see that it's on sp4:

Each new k_deflt.rpm also lists what's in them; you'll probably have to
go read all of the descriptions.

I found the patch on alphaworks as part of the june 2003 stream.
Instructions seem to indicate a recompile of the kernal from source.
Isnt'
that kinda drastic? Any way to tell if that patch is on SLES8/SP3 as
delievered from the vendor? My boss said 'Nyet' to recompiling the
kernal - And frankly, it is well beyond my comfort level. I would think
a kernel re-compile would be for something aggregious that needed fixing
yesterday.
Not for a performance monitor hook.

There is a Performance Toolkit redbook that has a chapter about
monitoring Linux.  It may mention where to get the patch.
