Tell me I am confused. We have to upgrade our Websphere application server. We are running SLES9 SP1. Checking IBM?s site at
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/doc/v60/prereqs/was_v601.htm for Websphere under 32-bit operating system, it says to reference footnote 3 which says: 3. For zSeries, WebSphere Application Server has only been tested as a 31-bit application on 64-bit machines booted with a 64-bit kernel; however, 64-bit mode is not exploited. WebSphere Application Server as a 31-bit application on 64-bit machines booted with 31-bit kernel is not supported. Does this mean I have to have a 64-bit processor, running 64-bit z/VM that is running 64-bit Linux (SLES9x) so that I may run a supported Websphere in 32-bit mode? Am I going to be forced into installing SLE9x? Thanks for any clairification.
