Jim, That's not really sufficient. The "name" of the kernel (and that is compiled into the kernel) has to match the name of the kernel for which the driver was compiled. That's why I asked Istvan if he knew what a "uname -a" command reported. If it doesn't match exactly what the Red Hat kernel reports, it will be necessary to force the loading of the driver, which most people really, really try to avoid. Part of this involves the issue that the kernel developers don't guarantee the correct functioning of kernel modules that were compiled with a different compiler than the kernel itself. It usually works, but there are always exceptions.
