Hi, I am not sure which Redbook you are referring to, but all I found on the topic "basevol/guestvol" was the "Large Scale Linux Deployment" Redbook, chapter 9. I agree with you that people want cookbooks they can follow, but that is exactly what the xip2 HowTo is about. It provides a step-by-step instruction on how to create, populate and use a xip2 filesystem on a DCSS (just like the above mentioned Redbook does it for creating basevol/guestvol Linux clones), and there are also a bunch of scripts included so that people don't have to figure things out themselves.
Could you please be more specific about what kind of information you are missing in the xip2 HowTo, so we can add this in future releases?
