"s390x" is the notation used (just by convention, I suspect) that the
Linux kernel is 64-bit. The "s390" notation means the kernel is 31-bit.

Yes, it works great on my other guest. We upgraded the you server from
sles9 to sles9x and then copied the you server configuration. But I cannot
find out where it is to change it.

We are running SLES9-S390X. When I get into YaST2 Online Update, the

base

architecture shows as s390 rather then s390x. If I continue, it will try
to download and install s390 patches instead of s390x. I discovered this
the hard way. I believe this was caused by an error in our cloning
procedures. However, I cannot find anyway to tell YaST2 that we are

s390x.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

If it is due to your cloning environment, does it work proper on the
"original"
installation then?
