There are many variants of network file systems (NFS, AFS, GFS, etc). Linux on Z can support all of them. NFS and AFS are probably the most widely used methods. If you're referring to iSCSI (aka SCSI over IP), it has successfully worked on Linux on Z with some subset of devices (mostly NetApps and EMC devices, and the IBM i200), but few folks seem to have done much with it.
