Thanks.

That is why I'm trying to lean towards a full WAS license. Since IBM
HATS and GEAC's web interface use it.

The free for all, is my fault. The IFL was initially for Oracle
database consolidation only. I stated I didn't want Java on the system
as that could blow our ROI.

Then, on HATS, I somewhat backed down and said that, sure we could
install it on the mainframe, do our testing, perhaps, depending on its
resource requirement, leave it on the mainframe.

But I can bring it up, much, much quicker, with "free" mainframe
hardware, when we could if we have to "buy" the servers. The mainframe
being free, until the application goes into production. Then the
resources need to be committed (purchased).

So, I have a load of lightly utilized systems projected being installed
on the IFL.

Once up and running, perhaps adding IFLs becomes a better proposition
than buying servers.

Your app developers wrote to one rather than the other.

Is all this really projected to run on a single engine? Because
ain't none of 'em really lightweight.
