Hello all, I've been hunting around for this answer but as yet I haven't found it so I'll pitch it here. I'm still building our zLinux system on Suse in an LPAR (Not VM). As I use YaST to activate additional DASD that new dasd will be assigned the next logical device node. What happens when I attempt to add something after /dev/dasdz?
I've found http://linuxvm.org/archives/200210.html Which indicate a maximum18,278 dasd devices that Linux/390 can recognize based on the free major numbers. My question is will I need to do something to use or get those free numbers, or will the next dasd volume that I activate after dev/dasdz become dev/dasdaa?
