Sounds like you installed a new kernel without re-running zipl.

I get this message: LOGON ZLT3 NIC 0064 is created; devices 0064-0066 defined z/VM Version 5 Release 1.0, Service Level 0502 (64-bit), built on IBM Virtualization Technology There is no logmsg data FILES: 0001 RDR, NO PRT, NO PUN LOGON AT 17:06:20 PST THURSDAY 03/02/06 z/VM V5.1.0 2005-11-15 12:39 DMSACP723I Z (592) R/O OSA EC1C ATTACHED TO ZLT3 EC00 OSA EC1D ATTACHED TO ZLT3 EC01 OSA EC1E ATTACHED TO ZLT3 EC02 Booting default (ipl)... HCPGIR453W CP entered; program interrupt loop When I mounted the boot volume (minidisk 152) on another guest, I could not detect anything that would be abnormal. I even copied the entire boot image from a working guest to this one. Still same issue. Now, it is not a big issue if I lose this guest. I can always clone from another. But what if happens to a production guest? I am guessing that the problem is the boot disk. Is anything else suspect? -- __________________ Ranga Nathan Work: 714-442-7591 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
