Did you say that MQ puts license info in /tmp? The definition of /tmp is that 
it can be wiped out, esp. when the system is booted. What happens to your MQ 
license when /tmp is cleaned out? This seems like a practice that should be 
ETR'ed and changed before it's too ingrained to get away from...

MQ Series also puts some license stuff in /tmp and plenty of stuff in
/var/mqm .  And many more products don't even give you a choice about
