This Redbook looks a bit old; the Linux information in it is for 2.4
kernels. I hope you try to implement this in RHEL4 and not in RHEL3.

This is a 2.4 specific configuration for the channel device layer,
which is no longer used in 2.6 kernels (it was used to do the hardware
configuration for your network devices). Configuration of HiperSockets
should be along the same lines as for OSA adapters; how to set up your
network devices should be explained in your RedHat installation manual
(I'm not familiar with it).
