While your assumption is reasonable, Steve, that's not the way it works.
:-)  In z/OS you configure HiperSockets based on the chpid number, not the
subchannel.  PROFILE.TCPIP contains "LINK IUTIQDxx MPCIPA" where xx is the
chpid number.  He finds all of the subchannels he needs.  Just make sure
you have at least 3 defined.

This is precisely why z/VM has a CHPID xx parameter on the NICDEF
statement.

VM, VSE, Linux, and TPF all use subchannel definitions.
