Can I DDR the spool volume from system A to the spool volume of system B, and then do a force start on system B the first time it comes up? I know I'll pick up a bunch of normal spool files I don't want, but will I be able to pick up the saved segments?
This basically is the trick that the starter systems use too. So sure, as long as you don't mess with the order of the cpown volumes, and as long as you can live with the fact of having all your spool files from A duplicated to B. Might be wiser to do a luke warm (? what's the one that discards normal spool filnces but leave NSS). :box type=soap. I have been suggesting since long that we concentrate NSS on a single spool pack (like for dump). It allows you to just take a snapshot of one of the spool packs to assure that you get all your NSS files on the other system too. Back in the days where we sometimes lost a spool pack, the big NSS files mostly had some blocks on the lost pack and were all purged. Having the NSS on a single pack improves your odds. :ebox. -- Rob van der Heij Velocity Software, Inc http://velocitysoftware.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
