In building two systems which are to share a single SYSRES volume, certain common userids need to be cloned in order to avoid walking on the original. One of these is FTPSERVE.
I created a new userid, POLARFTP, and copied FTPSERVE's 191 contents there. I added an entry in POLAR DTSPARMS for POLARFTP as an FTP server, and changed the id in POLAR PROFILE, replacing FTPSERVE. When the system comes up, The tcpip server autologs POLARFTP, and it begins, but then fails. The following is the log from the failure: DTCRUN1022I Console log will be sent to default owner ID: TCPMAINT DTCRUN1011I Server started at 10:09:46 on 5 May 2006 (Friday) DTCRUN1011I Running "SRVRFTP" DTCFTS0018I VM TCP/IP Server-FTP Level 510 10:09:46 CDT FRIDAY 2006-05-05 DTCFTS0002I Using translate table STANDARD TCPXLBIN. 10:09:46 DTCFTS0019E Cannot start ServerFtp: Fatal inter-VM communication error 10:09:46 DTCRUN1014I Server ended normally at 10:09:46 on 5 May 2006 (Friday) Any ideas? It would be nice, if it had a "fatal inter-VM communication error", that it might actually tell who it was trying to communicate with, but the above is all that the system provides as clues to the problem. As always, any help would be appreciated... -- Robert P.
