Good suggestion,  but induces network traffic and processor load.

I think the CPU load from rsync isn't that great, but ssh insists on
encrypting and that could cause problems. There is a patch to openssh
that allows to turn encryption off; I think it's been mentioned in TH's
nahant list in the past three months or so.
