Hello all,
I am trying to set up a vipa for sles9 linux running under VM 5.2. Each
linux runs eth0,1 through a virtual switch connected to two chpids.
I have gone through previous emails on this subject, but still seem to be
at a loss. Everything I have setup appears to be correct, and
when I start ospfd the vipa broadcasts so that the neighbors are aware of
it, but yet I cannot ping it. I see the following messages in the
quagga.log:
2006/08/10 14:53:53 OSPF: Link State Update: Neighbor[10.115.128.3] state
is less than Exchange
2006/08/10 14:53:53 OSPF: Link State Update: Neighbor[10.115.128.2] state
is less than Exchange
2006/08/10 14:53:55 OSPF: Packet[DD]: MTU is larger than
[eth1:10.115.137.51]'s MTU
2006/08/10 14:53:56 OSPF: Packet[DD]: MTU is larger than
[eth0:10.115.136.51]'s MTU
we have the mtu set at 1400 for linux dummy0 and eth0,1
Currently we have MTU set at 1400 on working vipas on both VM and MVS
systems.
When I do an ifconfig, I can see the outgoing packets but none are
received.
Here is the ifconfig output:
linux-00:/var/log/quagga # ifconfig

I have turned off the firewall, and set ipforwarding on. I have been able
to display ospf neighbors from ospfd.
I have installed src_vipa, using yast, but not sure if there are parms
that need to be tweeked. I read that src_vipa was a prereq.
Any ideas at all at what I should be looking at?
Thanks in advance.
