Mac OS X cannot be installed on any custom made Intel machine, only on
apple
hardware. I mean, legally and with an unmodified OS.
That would leave one the legit option of installing it on an Intel-based
Mac with the virtualisation hardware, under Linux & Xen.
I don't know the status of the Intel virtualisation; I was perusing the
AMD site last week and the only CPU I could find was the Turion. While I
quite like the idea of Windows under Linux on my laptop, I was more
interested in Athlon64/Opteron (I've not yet discovered when to prefer
one over the other for single-CPU computing), so I asked,
"Stepping F of Opteron, Athlon64 amd Turion," I was told. According to
an article at elreg, those are due out mid August, so that would explain
why the website didn't have the info.
