NTP causes every guest to wake up periodically to process time updates, which waste resources (NTP is not a particularly lightweight protocol). Not allowing VM to participate forces Linux to handle this individually (rather than doing it in common and allowing the Linuxen to handle it from the TOD clock offsets maintained by CP). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
