I think you need to : mknod -m 600 /dev/dasdbm b 254 0 mknod -m 600 /dev/dasdbm1 b 254 1 mknod -m 600 /dev/dasdbm2 b 254 2 mknod -m 600 /dev/dasdbm3 b 254 3 chgrp disk /dev/dasdbm*

Dasdbm1 is #65, so maybe dasdbl1 is as high as you can go. If they imply/presume 4 partitions per disk, that would be 256.
