Or, you could just start yast using the command "yast &", leaving your
first ssh session at a prompt, and do the dasdfmt and fdasd from your
original ssh session. Or, you could ^z out of yast, then enter the bg
command, and then do the dasdfmt and fdasd from your original session as
well.

The trick is that once you have started YaST and move towards scanning
the disks, you open another ssh session to the server and use that
session to format your disks.
