hello again. The sollution was found for my previus problem. But now we are facing a new problem. In the 3270 session we are asked to geve all the information about the installation source. ip-addresses, ftp servers, ...
an extract: Enter the IP address of the FTP server ¬10.251.21.151M> Usually an FTP installation is performed via anonymous FTP. It is possible to specify a user name and password for the FTP server access. Use a user name and password? 1) Yes 2) No >1 Enter the user name with which to access the FTP server> LINUX001 Enter the password for the FTP server> XXXXXXXX Use a HTTP proxy? 1) Yes 2) No >2 Trying to connect to the FTP server... Enter the directory on the server> q:/ Select the display type. 1) X11 2) VNC 3) SSH >3 Enter your temporary SSH password> XXXXXXXX Loading Installation System (86220 kB) - CCCC 1% CCCC 2% CCCC 3% CCCC 4% CCCC 5% CCCC 6% CCCC 7% .................. After giving this information, the loading of the installation system completes succesfully, and I can start via SSH the YAST program. I think this means that the given data is correct, and the link to the FTP server is working. But then during the YAST installation, when he must give an overview of the available packages, I get an error No catalog fout at ftp:\\10.251.21.151\.... It makes no difference to specify "q:\" or nothing at the "Enter the directory on the server" question. Some search on the internet gave that maybe the directory.yast file was wrong. We checked this, but it seems that this file gives the correct info about de DVD. The FTP server we are running is on a OS/2 portable. The DVD drive is Q:\ that's why I put Enter the directory on the server> q:/ but this makes no difference with specifying nothing. This is mayby since the LINUX001 users's default directory is Q:/ Can it be, that the OS2 FTP version isn't workig with the installation? Because in the documentation at novell.com is stated to use hummingburd exceed or war-ftpd because the some windows relaeses don't implement all ftp commands. Or anybody any other Ideas?
