that install and run correctly on several LSB3.0 distros (including Debian/Ubuntu via alien).
Speaking for myself, I will if I must run an rpm through alien for my use, but I'd be peeved if my software vendor did that. I would, if source is provided, expect 'apt-get source' to get it. Risks I might imagine with running a debianised rpm are similar to those with running a foreign rpm on any rpm-based distro, and if there are associated install/uninstall scripts I would fully imagine them untested on my platform, if they run at all. -- Cheers John -- spambait [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tourist pics http://portgeographe.environmentaldisasters.cds.merseine.nu/ Please do not reply off-list ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
