Hello,
I have successfully resolved the HCPIPN2833E issue by temporarily
undoing/redoing a couple of the zVM steps in the installation process.
1)In USER DIRECT C, comment out the NICDEF statement in the LNXMAINT
default profile (we are z/VM 5.1, not 5.2)
2)In USER DIRECT C, add the following statements to the definition of
the SLES9X z/VM UserID:
a) DEDICATE 600 xxxx (xxxx is the 1st virtual OSA address)
b) DEDICATE 601 yyyy (yyyy is the 2nd virtual OSA address)
c) DEDICATE 602 zzzz (zzzz is the 3rd virtual OSA address)
3) Run the sles9x installation exec.
4) Undo the changes in #1 and #2 above to begin using the VSwitch once
the install process is complete.
Thanks to those who responded to this thread. It's nice to know folks
are helpful.
