It the person who started this question does not currently have Linux installed on the machine he wants to run TN3270 on, I recommend that they should install the Debian Etch distribution. The original message talked about replacing a Windows TN3270. I have set up several machines using one of the Debian distributions to replace VSE and VM terminals. It works very well. Etch includes X3270 configured to use SSL as an option. I have a preseed file that selects which programs to install and it is pulled in along with all the other programs I want during the install.
