That depends on just what you mean by "integrated with AD." I've set up a Linux system that authenticated FTP users against an AD controller. I would say that if you don't have an AD admin account, you're not going to be causing any problems that any other unprivileged user couldn't create. (I don't know this to be non-zero, but if a Windows user can cause the same problem, oh well.)
