have you tried the kernel options vmhalt or vmpoff? You can tell Linux which 
CP command it should issue before going disabled wait. Make sure to pass 
uppercase commands to VM.

e.g. add vmhalt="LOGOFF" to your kernel line and halt should automatically log 
off your guest.
