Hi Karel, Your DB2 Connect can't be just idle, it must be doing something as well. My idle Linux/SAP engines include a running DB2 Connect. They average about 0.5 percent on an z9-BC.

After searching a day or 3 for any reason for the 2% cpu time, i began getting a little bit raddled. I began thinking it was something I had installed that someone else hasn't got installed. So I removed the DB2 Connect. And what do you know ... The 2% cpu became a 0.2% cpu. And then disableling the HZ_TIMER, the 0.2% became 0.0% cpu. All the values are in the "Resource Utilization Details for Selected User " within Performance Monitor Toolkit. Enableling back the RMFPMS did not give any increase of cpu. (Or maybe al very little bit) I've included a screenshot of the linux machine. Thanks to you all for your help! I am following the forum for a whilenow and learned a lot.
