I tried to upgrade from SLES8 64-bit to SLES10 64-bit with no success. I also tried going from 8 to 9. With all the frustration, I ended up creating a new guest. The upgrade would run, but after the first reboot and before you setup all the network info, root password, etc., I couldn't get the network cards to initialize.

Alan, there is a blurb (to put it politely) at http://www.novell.com/support/mysupport/viewdocument.do?externalId=36472 44&sliceId=SAL_Public Essentially, it says you can't use the YaST System Update function to do the upgrade. Other than that, I'm not sure there is anything that would be particularly detailed. Hopefully, someone who might know better will correct me.
