You would need version 10.x or higher.  There is a comment that version 1.10.2 
fixes a bug in NTLM.  The bad part is, the NEWS file says that it only supports 
NTLM authentication at the target site, not for a proxy.  Sigh.  So, it looks 
like you need curl anyway.  Sorry for the red herring.
